As the safety of all of our students and horses is our primary concern, all new students are required to attend two private Lessons prior to participating in group lessons.

What to expect

During the first two lessons, students will learn how to correctly prepare their horse for riding. Including, handling the horse on the ground, full grooming and tacking up and then they will ride in the arena.

Students will next learn the basics of controlling the horse at the walk and trot, the correct riding position and do various exercises designed to improve balance, control and confidence.

When both instructor and student are confident that they can participate in group lessons, a suitable group will be assigned, according to the student’s skill level and experience.

For students will prior riding experience, individual skill levels will be assessed and the lesson will be planned accordingly.

What to wear

ideally, students should wear - jodphurs/breeches (english riding pants).

                                          - Boots (short or long) with a small heel. (Tennis shoes are not suitable)

                                          - Any type of stretchy shirt appropriate to the weather.

                                          - A new  helmet is included for all new students as part of the lesson package.

                                          - If you do not have actual riding pants, stretch jeans will also be suitable.
