At Stepping Stone Stables, we are very fortunate to have a number of fabulous lesson horses who do a wonderful job of helping our students to progress in all aspects of their riding. We have horses of all shapes and sizes, breeds and ages, ranging in suitability from complete beginner to advanced. As a result of our exceptional horse care and health conscious training program, we have a lot of horses who are well into their twenties and still going strong.

Carob

At twenty years of age and 16hh, Carob is one of our most experienced lesson horses. She is excellent with beginners but still has lots to teach our more experienced riders.

Alex

Alex has numerous years of competition experience under his belt and it shows. He is an excellent teacher for our more experienced riders who are progressing towards more technical flat work and jumping exercises.

Dexter

At 16.2hh, Dexter is now into his mid-twenties and boasts an extensive show record, including a number of intermediate level events. Although he is now retired from competing at such a high level, he is a fabulous teacher at both dressage and jumping and some of our students have competed him successfully in many shows and events up through training level.

Dexter is definitely a favorite in the barn!

Maverick

Maverick is a super-cute 10 year old paint gelding with a big personality and the talent to match.

He has very floaty gaits and a scopey jump. Maverick is great for our more experienced students who are looking for a slightly more challenging, yet equally rewarding ride.

Bayfly

Bayfly is a 18 year old quarter horse and is an excellent horse for beginners. He is incredibly careful and has very smooth gaits. He is a great confidence builder and many of our students have had an excellent experience starting off their show careers with this great guy. Definitely a barn favorite!

Gracie

Gracie is a 15 year old quarter horse mare. She has a super-smooth trot and and a nice scopey jump. Gracie is really easy to ride and is great with beginners.

Goose

Goose is a 16.1hh thoroughbred gelding who is approaching his mid-twenties and looks better than ever. Although Goose is always very careful with beginner riders, he is also a fabulous jumper and an absolute schoolmaster. He is great fun to ride and many of our students have ridden him in all kinds of competitions and are always in the ribbons.
